Virtual Learning Community
A learning community is a group of people who take and share their knowledge and experience. Participants in a learning community develop a deeper understanding of the topcis and subjects of interest to them while they build relationships and learn together. In a learning community, the goal is for members to support each other in the growth of knowledge. The defining quality: a culture of learning in which people share expertise, value each others’ contributions, and collaborate to advance the collective knowledge and skills.
CAPRSS’s virtual learning community is a place for people involved in Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) to learn about topics related to the CAPRSS standards. The Learning Community is the hub for all information that can help your program to become accreditation ready. Through it, you’ll have access to:
- Indepth, annotated descriptions of the standards
- Articles and links to other online resources related to the domains, standards, and criteria
- Organizational self-assessment tools
CAPRSS will also be developing an online, social environment in which individuals throughout the PRSS program can participate, using a variety of technology to promote social learning. Our goal: Encourage sharing of promising approaches and emerging best practices in peer-to-peer support and in the process help programs to more deeply implement the CAPRSS standards.
It’s easy to sign up to be a member of the learning community. For basic membership, there is no cost or obligation–so sign up today.
